My works depict the rural Canadian landscape as I see and feel it, full of colour, light, and energy. My inspiration comes from adventuring through rural Ontario, chasing the light.

I am a Canadian landscape painter living in Southern Ontario.  I received my Bachelor of fine arts degree from York University in 2006, where I immersed myself in painting, drawing and historical techniques for 4 years.  I went on to study interior design at Sheridan College, receiving a diploma in Interior Design in 2009, which enabled me to dabble in both fields for several years.  After the birth of my daughter in 2017, I chose to follow my dream of being a full-time artist.  In 2018 my hubby and I opened up a gallery in our century home in Cayuga, called Wildwood.  We show artwork from a few local artists as well as my own paintings, and offer after-school art classes for kids, I also offer online painting tutorials for adults.  My works can be found in galleries across Ontario and are held in private collections in Canada, the United States and in Europe.  I have been an active member in the Federation of Canadian Artists since 2020.  I am happy to work with my galleries to create commission paintings for clients looking for a particular size or colour palette.

My works depict the rural Canadian landscape as I see and feel it, full of colour, light, and energy. My inspiration comes from adventuring through rural Ontario, chasing the light. I prefer to paint fast and intuitively, working mainly with large scale canvases using my own reference photos. I also enjoy experimenting with smaller studies and painting en plein air. I gravitate to the golden hour, trees, paths, rolling fields, big skies, flowers and water.

My work is influenced by traditional techniques and artists. As a child I looked to Van Gogh and the Group of Seven for inspiration. I use water mixable oils and have adopted the traditional method of using an imprimatura (underpainting) to lay in my composition and values. Large paintings are completed over several sessions, working in layers to build up colour, value and atmosphere. My paintings can be recognized through my bright colours, impressionist brushwork, and my emphasis on light and atmospheric perspective. My work reflects my personality; playful, soft & bold at times. Through my art, I aspire to share the moments of wonder, hope, and joy that infuse my adventures in the Canadian landscape with those who view it.
